How do I respond to messages in my inbox?

Replying to inbox messages is the best way to connect with prospective families! Families appreciate responsive providers. The faster you respond, the more likely you are to book a tour and enroll a family in your daycare. Parents appreciate it when providers reply within 24 hours, even if you cannot accommodate the family. We want to make sure all parents are responded to!


1. Open the Upwards App and tap "Inbox."


2. Select the message you want to answer.

You will receive messages from families and Upwards employees!


How do I respond to tour requests?

1. Tap on the conversation with the parent.

You'll notice a banner at the top that says "Confirm Tour".

2. You have a couple of options based on your schedule, capacity, and interest:

  • Tap "Confirm" to accept the scheduled tour time.
  • Tap "Reschedule" if you wish to suggest a different date or time.
  • Tap "Not a Match" if you cannot accommodate the family's needs.
  • Tap "More" for additional options. This includes "Enroll" or "Add to Waitlist."


How do I respond to interested families?

You will receive an email and phone notification anytime a family expresses interest in your daycare. Reaching out in the first 4 hours increases your likelihood of successfully scheduling a tour by 80%.


1.  Tap on "Enrollment" at the bottom of your screen.


2. Tap "Interested" in the top left corner.

3. You can see all parents who have expressed interest in your daycare! 

Tap on the parent to view their care request and choose your next action with the family.

  • Tap "Contact" to message with the family
  • Tap "Request Tour" with your ideal date and time.
  • Tap "Enroll" to start the enrollment process or add them to the waitlist.
  • Tap "Not a Match" if you cannot accommodate this family at this time.


Can I send a tour request to a family? 

1.  Find the family in your Inbox. 

2. Select"Schedule Tour" near the top left of your screen. 

3. Select the date and times that work best for your schedule.

Tap "Send tour request to parent" once you are ready.

4. The request will be sent to the family. 

The parent will confirm their ideal tour time, and we can't wait for them to meet you in person.

✭ Upwards Tip: Replying within 24 hours will increase your ranking on Upwards. The more you interact with families, the higher your profile will be rated in your area.


☞ Reminder: Remember to provide the parents with your Upwards rates or route them back to the Support Team for a more precise calculation of the fees.
